Throwback Time - Migration Paths (An Old Original Poem)

in #poetry7 years ago

If you must know,

I'm just passing through.

But the lines in the roads

lead me back to you.

And the stars in my eyes

(that blinding bright light),

and the thoughts in my mind

(the ones that I hide

but that creep into view)

have me coming here to you.

If you must know

how a wingless bluebird

takes to the sky

or how a journey begins

(when the sun's in your eyes);

well, it starts with a sprint

and it ends in flight.

And if the years come

and they pass us by—

if we are torn in two,

know I'll be back for you.

Used to write all my poetry in this style. Hope you're feeling it.
