African Festival Scene: The experience

My lips were left loose
as the painted scene of amusement
grew tardily into a big fuss.

With rhythmic beats of equal length
intoning from Baba's gangan drum,
Amoke's swerving waist met it with equal strength.

So enthusingly, I left opened my eardrum
letting the well stitched lines of Ewi
sink in deep like words of advice from mum.

The thatched tent adjacent was as well showy
for it was scened with tangling calabashes
of freshly tapped oguro pouring at freewill

Dressed in colorful attires that matches
are the men led in the ancient Bata dance
which was choreographed in steps that matches.

At every available chance,
my eyes would continuously steal a sight
of Ajoke's face which glows like a Belgian rance.

She was definitely my pick - no doubt.
With her liquid gold eyes in sight
an amalgam of thoughts radiates with warmth.

What is my tale without mentioning the Knight!
Ajala - the Aare-onakankanfo
The fearless fighter in the day and night!

Who trekked the deep forest to and fro
in search of the princess' lost treasure
Only if, such courage, I could borrow.

As he deservedly got crowned with pleasure
by his newly bestowed half- the princess
ensuing was joy, of unquantifiable measure.

The crowd's shout wasn't less
When Kabiesi seconded the crowning
with words of appraisal and awareness.

The mood got lifted, music ran in
and the village maidens trooped in
throwing their buttocks at every available tune!
