The Towers

Fingers of man thrust at God
Never touching their intended
Slivers of arrogance
A New Babel for the ages
Shimmers of glass and profane steel.

Anchored in rock as feeble as humanity
Birthing a thing more hideous than death
Awaiting the spark of freedom's last hour
Showering fires of liquid despair
Horror of horrors, a man-made judgment.

Tool of the evil ones
Falling to dust
Miracles of physics
And unutterable lust
Down to hell as designed.

Then from terrible clouds come things of lies
Raised on high above the flag and the eagle
Screaming towards retribution of preposterous confusion
Lashing out at causes created and plotted
Changing, changing, emerging wicked.

Mankind screaming in the face of the Creator
My wisdom must overcome “hatred” of justice
My power must reign absolute in my deceit
Do not question who we are
We are his, and he is blackness.
