Emigrante (poesía breve) /Migrant (short poetry)
¡Saludos!
Me complace dejar por acá un poema breve que compuse a propósito de todos los jóvenes que marchan de su tierra, buscando tal vez mejor futuro.
El horizonte recibe al sol
y al hijo que marcha a tierra ajena.
Solo una noche guarda al primero;
al otro quizás no lo devuelva.

I'm dropping here this short poem about young people who leave their country, hoping to find a better future.
The horizon welcomes the setting sun
and the son who’s gone to strange and far land.
The former it will keep just for a night;
But the latter might not ever come back.
Cuatro versos, cuatro sentencias y un sentimiento que aplasta el alma.

Heartbreaking. So true. What breaks my heart is not so much the idea of our children not coming back, but the haunting image of their having nothing to come back to.
