Shavasana (Day 58 of 100 -- Poetry challenge)
then I sat on the ground
as my heart pumped heavy,
my feet bloodied and sore.
inhaling the earth below —
exhaling into the sky
that started to show the breaking
dawn on the horizon.
“Where is this?” I thought
as I drifted away.
if you must.
I can never go back.
All pieces are newly crafted and posted shortly after in adherence to the rules of the challenge. All the photos are mine unless otherwise stated.

Great poem @mamadini! I would love to be able to get even one comment on the poetry I have posted, but I am becoming invisible. I joined the #isleofwrite group on discord but I am not really getting anywhere with it. If you have any suggestions, I am all ears on how to get more out of steemit. Thanks for your great writing.
Hello T,
Have you been interacting a little on the Isle, or is no-one responding to you? They have that section where you can get some interaction through edits (your pieces as well as giving your suggestions for others). It's taken me almost a year to get much interaction, to be honest, and I'm still only averaging a dollar or two. I do it for the love of it and that is what keeps me going. The best things I've done have been the challenges as they allow for a dialog with others and in the end, it's the relationships here that seem to be where all the other good stuff comes from (like the upvotes and all that). I am so sorry that I've missed your post as I'v been super busy and not on the internet much, so when I am here I tend to bomb everyone that shows up in my comments and then I make some rounds from post in the discord servers. I keep meaning to pop over, and I sure shall after I type this. Don’t lose the faith. <3
And a hello to Erin. :)
Yes I have been interacting on the Isle and I ask that folks let me know what they think of what I do post, but they all may be busy like so many of us that it is hard to let folks know what they are thinking. Yes, I continue to just post to get my items out into the world. I will look into the challenges and see if I can contribute that way as well. It is alright that you have missed my posts, I understand you are busy and not on the internet much, because to tell you the truth, I am not on the internet much either. Erin says hello back. When you have a chance, please check out her latest videos on youtube. Have a wonderful and blessed day :)
When you check in over at the Isle, post a single post and not just a link to your blog, I found that does not go over well as it's a a piece-by-piece peer experience. I view all good feedback as a gift and try to reciprocate as you clearly do too. I always check Erin’s yt channel when I have some time to watch videos. I love the content and what ya’ll are doing and stand for. :)
Thanks. I will look into that. I have noticed that some folks post a link to their blog when posting to the Isle, but maybe I am wrong on that because I am not always on the Isle site. I will keep trying to see what I can do to get more out of what I am doing. Thunder God over at the Isle got a message from ya and he in turn messaged me about the peer review part of the Isle and I still need to look into that and how to use the google docs setting they all talk about. Thanks again for your support.
Just to clarify, Niish hadn't messaged me about it, I just saw this conversation between you two and decided to chime in.
Ok thank you. I just saw you made this comment 2 days ago and I didnt see it till now. I am not always on my computer so forgive me if I dont answer right away.
you might also want to show up at the steemschool poetry classes on discord they are on Monday, Wednesday & Thursday from 1-3 pm Eastern Standard Time. We often share work there and you will connect with people as well. Thursday is also the day of in depth poem analysis, to make one of your pieces eligible you must choose a poem from someone on steemit and give int an in depth analysis in it's comment section . You then bring the link to your comment and your piece to class. If you do not feel ready to do that just show up and listen in the other days are more informal with the sharing ...
Thank you @tygertyger, I will look into that. I will try to remember the times because I am not always on my computer due to working in the garden and taking care of animals. Thanks for the support.
"Shavasana" for those too lazy or not near a computer to check, is the pose in yoga known as "The Corpse Pose."
I rarely like the use of bold text in a poem, or anything that helps the poem convey its meaning. When the bold is not needed for the meaning, why have it? And if the message only comes through due to the bold text, then the text itself failed.
Yet here, it's not the situation, as the poem is strong enough to convey its meaning without relying on the bold text, yet the bold text adds its own mini-poem:
And that is a poem about life. "I lived life to the fullest. I died. I can't go back to my old life."
Or "I lived myself out," if you want to look at it more negatively.
And you can look at it as "I can't go back to the rowdy life," or "I can't go back to life," and each meaning is slightly different, yet all of them together add up to a layered image.
Letting go. Letting go of life. Letting go of effort.
Letting go as you let yourself be between earth and sky.
No, this poem is not about affecting change, yet it feels more in tune with the world, and with alchemy, and with the union of All Things than most of your other alchemical writings.
This isn't about forcing reality, but accepting it.
And that is a much more powerful Ask, and Say.
And speak of an epitaph. This one speaks to the living, who are not yet ready to join you. They seek to learn from you, but all they can do is follow the path in the reverse direction. The path leading away from the learning.
Such is life.
Such is the living.
P.S. I always think how young you look in that image. I look at it semi-regularly.
is the corpse pose not
facing upwards?
towards the sky
away from the earth.
lest your earthly inhalation
be simply metaphoric,
as you state
that the sky receives
your exhalation...
I'd like a return here:
but that's just me.
I like the poetry.
Yes, however, part of the meditation is about breathing the earth in and out.
Thank you for always stopping by, I really enjoy your presence here and value your feedback.
Yw. But — thank yourself.
The feedback is, I try to make, as valuable as the content that inspires it.
I’m still learning.
A very impactful symbolic write. Looking to the past for a mother is never fruitful. I agree. The earth only blooms in the present:) Fantastic art, here:)
Hard lesson, to be in the present. ;)
When I went back to re-read (live) I had tracts instead of tracks, it's that kind of stuff that tickles me. haha
Sometimes they are the happy accidents:)
Oh yes, I agree. :)
