Never in your life
have you experienced this before
held so much innocence
shook at your core

laughed in utter joy
at the toy-like size

Finally exhaling
all that worry inside
dancing in place
filled with such pride

so precious and small
the cries of a soul
as night gently falls

The act of creation
that now sits in your hands
little does she know --
she is part of a clan

Bouncing with laughter
giggling from joy
still grasping for breath
so innocently coy

All babies are perfect
to new to be jaded
their spirit still sterling
it has not yet faded

When the crowds thin
all the dust settles down
you'll stare in amazement
at what you'd just done

But never before
have you ever felt this
the sacredness of life
overwhelmed by bliss.
