The Tunnel
He tried to escape, but couldn't make it in time
Because he had all this pain chained to his legs, couldn't fly
And there were no other roads, only the one to avoid
But something kept him moving on, he had to fill all this void
He had been feeling for years, shedding his blood and his tears
What seemed to scare him the most was that the end wasn't near
All that was left was the darkness, he had to crawl his way out
And so he entered the tunnel he had heard stories about
Since there was nothing to lose, no one would walk in his shoes
No one to lend him a hand, but he had paid his dues
Couldn't remember the Sun, there was not much he would miss
No single touch of affection, but loneliness felt like bliss
And if this path was to help him get rid of painful thoughts
And get away from his past, he had to go at all costs
Hasn't been seen ever since, but legend says he's still trying
To find the end of the tunnel he built himself in his mind
Don't be your own worst enemy.
Be wary of the invisible chains.
