Short Life Of A Silk Worm / Poetical thoughts on people's cruelty
Silk is a natural protein fiber, some forms of which can be woven into textiles. The best-known type of silk is obtained from cocoon made by the larvae of the silkworms. Every silkworm can spin about 1 km of silk fiber in three days or so. This silk forms the cocoon that protects a silkworm before it'll become a moth. Sadly, humans don't let silkworms to become moths by putting the cocoons into boiling water to prevent silk from the damage of moths getting out of cocoons and partly destroying them.
My son has a school project of observing silkworms becoming moths, I've been taking care of these creations for three weeks already, they're quite interesting little fellows - responding to loud noises, strong smells and eating enormous amounts of leaves))))
Observing them made me write this Haiku, I'm glad that our guys will have a chance to grow their wings.
The haiku is inspired by Haiku Saturday Initiative of @prydefoltz

Not too much of a worry ... a little late:) I am happy to have this fine haiku added to our collection:)
Thank you, Pryde!!! You're really sweet and encouraging!
That's an interesting bit of info about silk worm captivity, and sad too that they don't ever get to spread their wings. Strangely relatable in a way. This idea of not being able to fulfil one's destiny because of the more 'useful' results of remaining unfulfilled. Insightful stuff! Your posts seem to have slipped through my feed this week, unfortunately - I thought it was a bit too quiet :(
I missed you too, Lazarus! This week I was having my friend coming over for seven days, so I really kept quiet and didn't have time to get into your posts as I usually do, felt strange...
She left today and I'm desperately trying to catch up on my youtube channel and my steemit loves)
Naw, real life comes first, don't sweat it :) I haven't been as active this week as I'd like either, sometimes everything just moves too fast!
I used ri breed silk worms as pets and the moths are the cutest ever. I so very much would love to repeat experience. Just to ovserve them as I did as a child. Love moths since. Silk is cruel :(
A wonderful turn on this Haiku. Great job. :)
What could possibly be more noble and virtuous than protecting the rights of worms?!
those are not just worms!!!! They're such a miracle! I was thinking about the past, when silk was more precious than gold ))) those guys ruled the world. It rhymes, haha, should write another one:
Their secret was more precious than gold
Silk worms used to rule the world
Ahahahaha
Anyone or anything ruling the world is poetry to me, Lol!
And if that were me,
I'd drop gold from the sky, you'd see..
Aren't you participating in my SBD give away?
Please check the few tiny conditions if you are...times running out
You're really sweet, R.! Giveaways aren't my thing, actually... You're a generous person, people on steemit need the mood boosters such as yourself! But I prefer earning by working) it feels right. You know, once I got curated for singing a WWII song, I was so happy!
I understand where you coming from, and I totally respect it.
I on the other hand, enjoy using proceeds from giveaways and contest and spread it along as best I can.
I don't believe I'm simply giving away SBD, but an opportunity for other to share it further - but that's up to the individual... So if you wanting to help someone, and you not by the means - its a great reason to collect from a giveaway...Hha! (That's my warped thinking - lol!)
You're doing a great generous thing R. It's just my weird nature, I guess, the Soviet way of thinking )))) ahahaha
great to read about their life and thanks for the photo. looking forward to your photo of the developed ones
