Future vs. Present

The future has no certainty
As one Philosopher has said
The only certain is uncertainty
That's what I've read.

So, I sat down and think;
"Future, huh?" I mumbled under my breath
Then, I realized it wasn't something my petty mind could predict
Just like how unpredictable a double-edged sword would do, once unsheathed

Nobody could tell what will happen
It's not like we're an oracle or something
The future for humanity will stay unseen
And we're not actually sure as to what will it bring

What if to this "future", you no longer exists?
What if the present is your only future left?
What must you do then?
In the past, shouldn't have you've done your best?

Sometimes, we think too much of this "future" that we seek
Forgetting that we also have this what we call the "present"
We often waste our time that continuously ticks
And take for granted the blessings that to you, was sent.

Time isn't something our mere hands could hold on for long
We should be aware that anytime, we can be gone.
So, straighten the things that you've done wrong,
And let love and goodness in you, to once again be born.

To the future, we shouldn't get too attached.
But to the present time that we belong.
We shouldn't dart our mind also in the past.
But focus our minds on the current playing song.

Present brings out the future
And the past molded the present
We can no longer change what was done
But we can always make things right, in the present time.

Savour each moment that you have
Be happy, enjoy life and live like it's gonna be your last
Let go of hatred and regrets, disappointment and sadness
You only live once, so focus on what's there
So that, you may have the future no more
But you'll have no regrets
For in the present, you gave it yout all. :)
