Smash, I am awakened to the sound
Of glass laden on the floor
Pieces begging to glue to wholeness
Tiny entities shimmering at sun rise
Crying out for mergence
Dawn creeping upon them, like a
Serpent about to strike
Time a forgotten luxury as the clock ticks
Away all that is left to gather of the brokenness
Emergency ascertained, broom bristles gather
To celebrate a day in a glass’s life
That has lived and served to its fullness
Owner’s manual in toe
Kissed from broom to trash
Distain engulfs, loyalty at waste
Betrayal accepted, recycling rebuilds
As the broken glass stands firm again
