We fought a war with mice and won
They had appeared in the house one by one
Soon they grew and had a crew
In our store they hide and ate
They were living like king and we looked like pawn
They stole our grains
Left us with pains
They run around like they own the house
Dare us to our front we had a flinch
We bought a cat and set a bait
We thought they'll pick and it'll set them straight
We hate the sight of mice alot
Soon enough our cat had feasts
Dine on their meat and left some bones
Maybe as incentives or evidence for us
Now, we are free of mice and it's troubles

nice words you choose
Thank you...
welcome
Nice poem. Here are some suggestions. The selfie contest is an elimination contest and we are on day 15. Players had to register to be in it. I recommend that you change one of your hashtags to #freewritepoetry or #freewritepoetrydigest and drop it in the comments of the prompt on @mariannewest. That way, you will get more readers and your poem has a chance to be selected for the digest we publish every Sunday.
Thank you. I've made the adjustment in the hashtags
Good riddance to those mice :)
Yeah... We need them gone!
This is a great poem, well done! You really have it in you! I love how you write about such a small, but big thing in our lives. You are competent in writing that way!
Oh! Thanks... I appreciate your kind words!
