Some believe
while others do not
Do I really exist?
that is entirely up to your perception

Am I good
or bad
Am I your hope
or merely an illusion
Due to your thoughts
I may exist
Yet due to your perception
I may be a myth

Use me wisely
as your thoughts play an important role
An important role
in what you want in life

Explore the truth
You know it
yet you are unaware of it
Be awake

Law of karma states that “As ye sow so shall ye reap.” This implies what goes around comes around, if you do good, good shall come about to you. Yet, many people do good but they suffer. Why? Laws are universal, for example, law of gravity. It applies to everyone, regardless of their characteristics and personality. Additionally, the definition of good is subjective. The representation of the word good is diversified as different cultures and societies define it differently. In some cultures whipping themselves is an important ceremony but in others it may seem as abuse. What then is good and bad? Who decides it? How can law of karma exist if the definition of good differs according to cultures and societies? How is it even called a law if it does not apply to everyone?

Moreover, it is known that time is an illusion. The only “time” that exist is the present moment. If I did a bad deed yesterday how could I get the reaction of the bad deed some other day when yesterday does not exist anymore. If we truly believe that time is an illusion and only the present moment exist, how could law of karma exist? It does not make sense to me.

In my opinion, karma is a form of hope to people. A hope where people believe that life will teach the ones who hurt you a lesson. For instance, Tom cheated on his boyfriend, Harry, with Kim. A few years later, Kim cheated on Tom. Tom, a person who knows the feeling of cheating on his boyfriend and also the feeling of being cheated by his girlfriend decided to be a relationship psychologist. Years pass by and Tom became one of the top, famous and specialized relationship psychologist, married with 2 kids and owns a nice beautiful house with a few cars.

This scenario would project karma from Harry’s point of view; Kim cheated on Tom. Yet, I see it in a different light. I believe everything happens for a reason, happens for us and not to us. Tom had to cheat on Harry and Kim had to cheat on Tom for Tom to get to where he is today. How is this karma? If you believe this is karma then is there such a thing as good karma and bad karma?

Could this be law of attraction?
- Tom was with his boyfriend Harry and when he came across a beautiful lady named Kim he really wanted to be with her.
- He always thought about them being to together and it happened.
- Tom was afraid that Kim would cheat on her, and in fact she cheated.
- Tom then decides to help people who went through the same experience that resulted at where he is now

I started questioning karma only when I believed time is an illusion and questioned myself what exactly is good and bad. I personally believe karma is simply a hope for people. As usual, I would say please do not believe whatever I have written here. Have an open-mind to see that such a perspective could exist, do your research, think and then decide if karma really exist for you.
