I have always been a lover of literature since my days in high school. Sometime towards the tail end of my stay in college, I decided to open a blog, not just because I fancied the idea of wanting to be called a blogger, but because I saw the hole the words from my heart filled.

I understood that at the core of every human being, lies a soft spot; a place where words have the power to reach and bring to surface emotions that lay latent. Sometimes when this spot is reached the person is moved to act or think in ways he or she never thought possible.

Understanding the power of words is the first step in taking control of all that happens in and around you. When they are wrongly used, they can create:

• hurt
• anger
• strife
• death. e.t.c

When they are rightly used, they:

• give life
• foster peace
• encourage the sense of family e.t.c

That being said, you will agree with me that the likes of Shakespeare, understood this art properly and for every poem they wrote, you could practically visualize the moment in time which the poem was written. They understood that with poetry you can paint pictures and live in worlds beyond the physical.

Sometimes when they have their stage plays, it takes a while to find the perfect person amidst the myriads of people who audition for roles. This process is that important because the actor has to own the poem. Sometimes even without an actor, the words of a poem have transportive abilities that take you from where you are to where it wants you to be.

HOW IT ALL STARTED

I have been a writer for as long as I can remember, and like I said earlier, this writing itch that I always enjoyed scratching led me to start my very first blog. This bog had over 3000 views in a less than 3 months.

THEN I MET STEEMIT

Sometime in June 2017 I discovered steemit, it became a game changer bringing me to a world where my work could really be appreciated by people I can actually interact with. Back then with blogspot.com, I only get to see that my post was read in various countries and then they show me stats:

Japan - 4
Iraq - 10
Uk - 18
Nigeria - 20

But with steemit, these people can actually leave comments which will eventually lead to conversations between us.

How come Poetry?

I started writing songs back in 2010, and over the years I have seen my writing skills grow and blossom into what it is today. Soon as I started blogging on steemit, I moved from my usual motivational and musical posts to a world I always shut out, a world that had me yet couldn't use me.

After my very first poem, it became obvious that I had a gift for poetry, I guess you could call me the word-bender, lol Sometimes I read my works and marvel at the command of literature that I spit out, it's almost like I become another person soon as I wield my pen to write. In the past few months, I carefully put together 50 of my best poetic write-ups and today I have my very second E-BOOK.
