Dancing with the Devil
When everything that you do causes pain,
All your goals fall short in vain.
What is up with this are we in the end game,
Or am I just that lame.
The beast is in my head,
He's asking me to sit and break bread,
One bite and I know my soul is dead,
What does it matter I just want to end this dread.
On and on we dance with him asking me to eat,
Telling me it's okay just accept my defeat,
Only the light can bring me hope
I am now angry for being such a dope.
Follow the light to the great feast,
What is it that you have to lose in the least.
As I walk towards the light he yells stop you can't,
The darkness pulls on me and I feel faint.
The room suddenly goes bright,
I finally feel right.
He flees saying he will be back.
I stand there saying I won't be this shit is whack.
The verses flow pretty well.
Nice piece thanks for sharing I love the second line " all your goals fall in vain" I thinks that is what is killing me haed now but I definitely know its well with me

I'm not an expert when it comes to poetry. Does this have a pattern of syllables? Or is this free-verse poetry?
Free verse....This was something that came to me during a bipolar episode....I was hospitalized and suicidal, part of my therapy was art therapy so I picked creative writing as my art.
This explains the theme, and the somewhat eerie feeling I got when reading.
Well, I do hope you are doing well now. Just keep the ideas flowing!
