The Honest Lie (An Original Poem) - Life And Death
I'm badly hurt and injured; covered in the red color of pain.
But I still hold onto a glimmer of hope in my tired & weakened eyes.
As I fight for my precious life, I can feel my life force slowly drain.
Oh how I wish, I had the time to say my final goodbyes.
Did god love me so much, that he required my company in the skies?
Or did I deserve all the pain and suffering, because I didn’t do any crime?
Why is he being so cruel & ruthless; for whose sins am I paying the price?
Does his clock need to be repaired, because today certainly isn’t my time?
I look at the helpless man, with the sad smile on his face.
Trying hard to mend my broken pieces, he consoles me saying I’ll be fine.
"You aren’t going anywhere" he says, picking up his already frantic pace.
"You’ll have a family with a beautiful wife, and grow old drinking lots of wine".
We, the pawns in this life so cruel, should live each moment to the best we can.
And as I lie here weak, and as I lie here broken, I decide not to cry.
I have entrusted my last few breaths in the care of a man,
Who had just comforted me with an ‘honest lie’!
