Glide gently,softly
through this night
my gondolier

do not wake
those sleepy stars
as we go

glide leisurely, tranquilly
in the moonlight
my gondolier.

Glide lightly, soundlessly
upon these beautiful
shivering blue waters

take me, take
us, through this
world tonight.
