DECIBELS OF SILENCE (An Original Poetry)
A call for succor,
wailing from beneath the Nile,
screeching with a million emotion,
but the current is a silencer,
that drowns cries,
shattering the peacefulness,
of the daylight calmness,
even a billion whimpers,
all is but muted by fiery forces,
aligned to us like leeches
It viberates,
quaking our conscience,
resounding from plaintiff weeping,
from a soul nearby,
a gentle thumping,
in the corridors of the heart
but the ears are on blissful holidays,
and the mind is darting,
dangling away like a grandfather's clock,
unaware of the decibels of silence
Invincible droplets,
on the whiteness of white pages,
florescent as innocence,
yet written in hieroglyphics,
of men with scorched cheeks,
and as the sunset smears,
gleefully,
tears becomes plain,
like a beautiful scar
sweetly bourne with hubris
Completely bamboozled,
dust scribbling through our pupils,
clogging ears
ringing in monotonous tones,
but as the calmness is come,
we've been deafened,
by the distractions of vain things,
completely unaware,
of the decibels of silence
I had a math teacher in high school who said: "I can't hear the silence!" whenever we were too loud. This poem reminds me of him in a way.
Beautiful!
Haha I'm glad it brought memories really, thank you for reading.
