POEM: A pool between two trees
A pool betwen two trees now marks the spot where Winter died, surprising snow and baffling birds and bubbling mercury.
Dead Winter sunk in one smooth piece, untrod and so unlived while I, inside, awaited warmth too soon, too strange, and much too brown.
