I crushed the muse[original poetry]
A Poem by JMT
You were lights kiss,
a shimmer on the tide.
I wrote you letters and poems,
dreams and ideals,
bottles of the flood,
glimpses of the fire.
You took them for expectations,
impossible standards.
I crushed the muse with
the pedestal I built for her.
I called the girl a goddess,
and it was too much.
I was too much.
