as I was walking down the street
bothered by the world, as always
clenching my fists towards the sky
damn it, why did it have to rain today

eerie eyes were looking at me
fighting the urge to run after me
to look into my eyes and scream at me
"you have your eyes closed,
you can't see"

my eyes are closed
but not in a very literal way
to the world's wonders i'm not exposed
i'm on the wrong highway

if i open my eyes, i am scared i'll see
every bad thing and every death
and that i will be drowning in a sea
and constantly be losing my breath
