Your Sweetest Smile I Missed
Hi Steemians! I’d like to share my first poem. Been busy lately!
Though the story of the poem aches for more love that was lost, he keeps the memory of her until her last breath, keeping wonderful, beautiful addictive smile of hers that he will cherish as long as he lives.
It’s a simple gesture and yet unappreciated,
I know it’s not that hard when you smile,
but today I hardly see you even laugh.
We used to keep on smiling whenever we are,
in the cafeteria, on the beach, at night in the park,
we are bliss in whatever state I am with you.
When you smiled back at me, I love it,
I love the way your teeth sparkle, love the whiteness,
We always hug when you smile even with tears.
Loving your smile today, tonight or even tomorrow,
I can’t forget when you smile, it lights up my life,
it’s a comfort of feeling when you smile.
Lately, I’m saddened when your smile faded,
your smile fading into the midst of darkness,
I can’t bear it to see the dying smile.
When I hold your hand, it’s cold,
you awkwardly forced a lifeless smile,
my heart sunk deep in pain.
Your motionless form I ache,
from the long-lost hours to eternal rest,
looking for that beloved, sweetest smile!
