King of All (original)
When he died, they missed him.
He was king of all.
The town had other kings,
But they would rise and fall.
“No one’s that important”,
The wise one always said.
“He thought that he was better,
But he’s like us now that he’s dead.
When the cat was hungry,
He ate the closest one.
To him we’re all alike.
He would have eaten anyone”.
The mice just stood in silence,
Could it be true what he just said?
We’re all so insignificant,
It wouldn’t matter if we’re dead?
The moment of their silence,
Quickly went away.
They could not accept this concept,
At least not for today.
