No Solace (Poetry)

No Solace

I walk alone along the beach
It offers no comfort today
Tears fall not from my eyes
But bleed from my heart

The chill in the autumn air
Merges with that in my soul
Gnawing ache with marbled core
Nibbles worry deep in my gut

Trust eroded countless times
Lies that purloin exhausted devotion
Destroying hope, belief and faith
Leaving only depleted emotion
