SteemitPoetryContest #2 - Nature's Symphony
Moving deep into the Adirondack fold
the noise of now fading behind
the sounds of nature consume me
as I hike toward contentment old.
I reach the shores of a mountain lake
and find a space to sit on the beach
the wonder of this amphitheater awes me
my eyes eat of every splendorous flake.
I close my eyes and the performance begins
the quiet of the symphony booming all around
my mind dances freely to the silent song
whispering breezes hushed as the silence deepens.
Nice images. I like rhyming the 1st and 4th lines as you have done here. Gives it a unique rhythm. One thing - I can't seem to find the contest itself - is this upvote helping you? Are there judges? If I need to vote elsewhere, I will. Good luck.
