Barbs of Longing - A Poem of Love
My heart rapt in barbs of longing
of love past yet never released
warmth etched onto my soul
a smile etched into my mind
the better part of me
now lives in memories
and my love is doled out
but in fractions to the future
the fullest portion of emotion
still wrapped in the barbs of longing.
