you watched in awe from the corners of desire,
as a pirouette burned its grace into your heart-
a watermark image today,
was then a flame desperately afraid to burn...
a glowing ember,
catching breezes of malcontent,
went on to smolder, choking the breath of adolescence...
asphyxiating dreams.
leaving in its wake,
a life of quiet,
displaced ambitions.
