Queen of Tranquility - A Short Poem
This is a short poem I wrote back in 2014. Please, have a read of it
and let me know what you ponder.
Queen of Tranquility
There exists a lively valley
of great depth yet unknown,
centered sits a delusioned King
on a cold, stone-carved throne.
Vibrant waterfalls vigorously rush down
supplying life and richness for all;
carving into land its' meandering paths,
before finally winding to a crawl.
Ever-shackled is the immobile King,
iron-poured are the chimeric chains,
a key for the all-binding lock
seemingly lost in cerebral strains.
Yearning for His misplaced Queen,
to free him from this cursed bind.
From dawn 'til dusk He shall wait
to bring calm to a stirred mind.
Wings extended to the horizon
have not ever quite flown
on a quiet, dreary, vapid breeze
of but pure loneliness alone.
Timelessly locked into this place,
ghastly beings wander the valley floor,
In One's imagining of much greater things
does His clear essence freely soar.
Till these chains return to naught
the lock clasped shut does wear
attempts to open it as Sun rolls by
echoes out through night-chilled air.
Someday these shackles shall be shed,
this lively valley has yet to bear;
The stillness and silence in its center,
of a cold, stone-carved, empty chair.
