Untreaded Forest

At night in an untreaded forest
branches sing a tune in the wind
and if you could hear what pierces the air
your soul would fear all it has sinned.

The foliage littered all around
is not shed for the ground
but for silence of movement
of ancient tree-folk unfound.

Tread not among the roots
and cast no flames above
for the wodden beings of this forest
lack the kindness you are fond of.

Should you experience pereidolia
know that it's not a trick
as the land itself has long been cursed
and all who are unwelcome disappear mighty quick.
