#54: SteemitPoetryContest #13 - The Queen's Demand

This is my entry in the poetry contest hosted by @terrycraft. This week's topic is really interesting but difficult at the same time! The topic is : 13/Coven/Witches.
After hours of struggle, I finally came up with something worth sharing with you guys. Here it is:

The Queen's Demand

The night has come, the sun's gone down,
The Queen's pacing the corridor, wearing her favorite gown.
The coven's been summoned, to obey the Queen's order,
She demands to be the most beautiful, far and beyond the kingdom's border!

Sacrifices need to be made, the witches decided and said,
Thirteen animals were listed, to be lined up to behead.
The King's men ran frantically into the forest,
For the King would do anything to satisfy his Dearest!

The witches lay the cauldron and set the fire ablaze,
Murmuring the spells together, their wands they raised.
And now the Queen impatiently waits for the men to arrive,
If the ritual fails, the witches know they won't be leaving the castle alive!
