How Blessed Are We
All power emanates from spirit,
All spirit is eternal,
All goodness is in one such vested,
All evil in another.
How blessed are we all to be,
Of goodness we are sired,
O Father of our spirits see,
Thy grace is our desire,
Thy mysteries confound us,
Thy nurturing uplifts us,
Thy mercy has absolved us,
Thy sacrifice has saved us,
Thy Son has died for us,
Our sins he bore for us,
Our tears he shed for us,
He gave His all for us,
And as He walked here in our midst,
Thy works in Him were manifest,
Thy will He showed unto us,
Thy love He freely gave us.
And when He taught us what to do,
He gave this as warning,
Not everyone of you who knocks,
Gains entry to the Kingdom,
But he whose works are not his own,
But those of Him who sent Me.
And so we have our path assigned,
And if we would be heirs of Thine,
Thy work we are to glorify,
Thy love to share with everyone,
With every creature that we see,
With every brother who has need,
With every person who offends us,
With ever fish and cow and tree.
And when at last the harvest o'er,
The righteous thou hast claimed,
The others meet whom they followed,
His colors on display,
All those who chose, Thy love, Thy will,
All those who grew together,
May join in the Eternal Realm,
The One who gives forever.
