Chrome Reaper
Smooth lines and blinding shine
could not disguise the hideous crime.
A beautiful day on a country road,
synthetic thunder invaded their home.
Innocent fun two squirrels did run
they chased and played on the gravel lane.
Screaming rubber, frozen fur,
indecision, a chaotic blurr.
One went left, one went right
one met chrome, one met life.
The smoky haze faded away
and one little squirrel remained.
It's a sad tale that needed to be told
about the chrome reaper and the country road.
