Throughout our life many of us work towards goals. Many of us also give up on them because they seem too great and progress can't be seen everyday. These types of people want quick results, and so quick sprouting and small goals that are more easily attained are in their garden.

The greatest goals take time, much like a tree. It's growth can't be seen day to day, but it will slowly grow to great heights. You must nourish and protect your goals, often for many years. The most important thing is to not get discouraged and sabotage your efforts. It is within you to grow to whatever heights you dream of. Grow a forest, not a potted plant.

The seeds of all the greatest plants
Take the longest time to grow
The acorns lie for many weeks
Before their first leaves show

Children who have sown them come
And look about the bed
And say because they lie so long
“Our acorns, they must be dead.”

But when they sow their mustard seed
They need not wait so long
In but a few days, like a weed,
It grows up green and strong

In this example we see our human condition
We are the ones that trample over our goal
The greatest plans take time to grow to fruition
Tend to your seeds and have self-control

These acorns planted so long ago
And watched so long with tears
Will slowly into powerful oaks grow
In spite of all your fears

All you need to do is plant and feed
For all that you have sown
Don’t be a child who digs up seeds
To see if they have grown
