Fortress - Lyric Poetry Challenge

A single tear is shed,
With the loss of a lover,

For the wind will howl,
And the rain will lash,

Brick will tumble,
And roots will purge,

Blood will spill,
And skin will break,

For the castle walls that protect,
A broken but beating heart
