She Loves Me, She Loves Me Not
She Loves Me, She Loves Me Not
Where has that spark gone?
It ignited the flames of passion
Which burned with intensity
Fueling my love for thee
It motivated me to succeed and achieve
For recognition and appreciation
Wrapped in the sweetness of your smile
And love reflected in your eyes just for a while
We had something real
It may not have been perfect
But our love was overt and positively there
For the world to notice and sometimes stare
Without shame we held hands all day
Embraced our lips with a gentle kiss
While waiting in line
Passing time in a brief moment of bliss
As the years pass
Weathering our hearts
And taming our affection
I long for a major course correction
Flames of fire
Once burning with such intensity
That being apart hurt immensely
Always being at your side was my propensity
While the years have dimmed the light
The spark of love still crackles between us
Please don't let the glowing embers extinguish
Instead let's fan the flame and watch it grow bright
