Humility – a new poem
Source:
What role in life does humility play?
It doesn’t require that you give things away.
It can come across, in the things that you say.
It’s mostly unnoticed; not prone to betray.
The humble are people most think are passé.
They give up the spotlight to you any day,
Then gracefully tell you it’s better that way.
You may never thank them, but they’re still okay.
They’re not seeking fame and do not portray
Themselves as heroes; they are not risqué.
Heroes they are though, in all they purvey,
They just won’t announce it, or ask that you pay.
We’re not all humble but sometimes we stray,
And do things for others, without shouting “Hey!”
Boisterous people fall into decay,
But all humble people live life straightaway.
