Poem 1: Unrequited love

Last night we spent a whole day together
I dreamt of the nuances of our first date
At the start, you were estranged to me
But slowly you came around
As we witnessed the happenings of the world
Together
Sharing the same impressions
Of people, of life

When enough time had passed and you trusted me
And we were laying down
Your face was right up close to mine
And I told you everything I've always wanted to
It made you smile
Not a toothy grin, but an inner glow
