Rain-original poem

Raindrops fall like tears on your grave
The small Pitter patter as they hit the ground reminds me of your tiny paws
The grey of the sky reminds me of your striped fur
Your sneezes were cute even though they were a momento mori for us both
I wish I could have held you tighter than death could have pulled
But you wandered off into the night
Answering the angels calls
And now when it rains I think of you
The sickly little shelter cat that nobody wanted the lost cause everyone said not to love because of his expiration date
I hope the happiness you found here in your last days surrounds you for eternity
And I'll always remember you when it rains, and those happy days.
