Rulers & Robbers

From death's jaws, he was torn,
June twelve for him reborn.

Eight years running, trillions down,
The blood of our people subtly drawn,
Till kingdom come he would have stayed.

Subtly by friends, he was outplayed
Of beauty in manner, grace or form,
He was not the beautiful one.

Then along came the gentle one,
Foisted by he who was not done,
A trick, plot, a game of dice.

Cabal, parasites, a band of spies,
Surrounded, sick, at his food he picked.
Doctor's tried but knew not dick.

Smuggled in at night, the world asleep,
Dead, chick trussed in the white man's keep
Then came he who had no shoes.

Took him as kin with his tale of woes.
3 years down, his shoe rack full.
Slapped us with hikes in liquid gold.

Why have we failed to see our plight,
Our gold they steal whilst we snore at night.
Haul back, steal again through subsidy
Yearly we wallow in poverty.

Cemeteries, water tanks, soak away pits
Store no cadavers, water or waste we shit
Mugu, we stare as they loot the till
Bank vault hoard no more, the dough they steal.

Our brothers at their behest, we maim and kill
For a paltry sum to foot our bill
History they say we should not read.

History hides, whilst evil men breed.
Like the weather they come and go,
This one like the snail is acting slow.

Rulers we have in different guise,
Scarecrow comes under the change disguise
DSS, EFCC, his wielding stick.

Wise men from the east, on them he picks
Fodio's children he favors most,
The rest of us are now burnt toast.
