City of the Young

Haven't taken the liberty to post any of my writings before, so some these poems will span a couple years. Being from Southern California, my writing will have references to specific sites, geography, and experiences that are endemic to the region. So here we go:

The sky scintillates
of an unannounced sunset
That beholds the novice eye.
Something unique
Enters the disavowed,
The interconnected swoon,
a fresh breath of air
Within smog infused hues
That had to travel West
The well acclaimed void,
The beacon of innovation,
But only to those who have traveled,
To the well versed
And not to the suffering,
To the living.
