Wishing Well
WISHING WELL
Let me
finally see
myself in true
form
no filters
or lies
The
darkness
runs deep
perhaps farther
than I ever
imagined
Every once in a while
a penny will fall
and click and clank
off the rugged
sides like plinko
without prizes
Send the bucket
to the bottom
of the well
slowly
gently
carefully
it is fragile
Experience
is the rope
some like mine
are tied together
hoping against hope
it will not break
Hope is the key
the belief light can
erase the darkness
of the past and
plant a seed
That will grow
and find light
through cracks in
sidewalks to flower
and finally display
true beauty
