MOUNTAIN TREES
As mountain trees of a gloomy night
Far, unreachably far,
Is where I stand, observing
A beauty so easily misunderstood..
Are you that brilliant flower,
Do not be sad
When the stinger-happy insects come
In their hordes;
For they are uncontrollably attracted
To bright colours..
I would take a sting or two for you,
Indeed, I would take all..
But will you let me?
My hands may not be the toughest,
But surely, with them behind yours,
They would hold back even the hurricane..
Shall I merely be
The watchman of this storm?
To watch it go in, then out at will?
But I cannot be, I say.
I'd rather be consumed in this storm.
As mountain trees of a gloomy night,
Far, unreachably far,
Is where I stand, wishing
I could get close to you;
To show you with my eyes,
Just how beautiful you are...
