The Work Prayer {Original Poem}
Working at a call center in Dallas, Tx, this poem came out of nowhere as I hated to go to work everyday and deal with the politics of micro-managing supervisors. So I posted this poem in my cubicle and sent it out to everyone one my team, and boy were they glad I shared it!
Lord, I ask that you please be with me God as I begin a new day
I pray that you guide me through it all because my voice has no say
I do what I am told because my family has to eat
A roof over their head and clothes on their back, bless those that live on the streets
You woke me up with a purpose, now I ask that you order my steps
This is my testimony, I only made it through yesterday because you were there to help
Sometimes I want to leave it all behind just to get a piece of mind
But joy comes in the morning, that devil won't get a piece of mines
I am bound by my title, and I am lifted by my belief
Once time is served at work, I have to give thanks to the Chief
After this day is gone and I pray another day shall come
Lord I shall never forget, You are the source that my strength comes from
If I don't say this prayer tomorrow please know it was an unconscious reason
I take your promises to heart so I know that soon it will be my season. Amen.
