where the secret of life resides,
our being summarized in the nucleobase affiliates ,
sweetened by deoxyribose ,supported by phosFates,
H-ighly connected, tightly wound
Hiding in its pyrimid-in, knowledge profound
gliding like ribbons in a double helix
confiding in the mind of Watson and also Crick's
But the X-ray of light was a great lady,
for this was always Rosalind's baby,
Answer lied in the pocket of our genes,
The same for paupers, kings and queens,
But if you have more sex appeal,
maybe you got that lucky allele,
If yours genes fit best, it ensures your survival,
So you might darWin against nature's reprisal,
Arm in arm it forms the chromosomes,
becoming the madness of mind , the strength in bones,
You'll get lost mapping the human genome,
for 98 % of it's beauty is not yet known,
So after the life has wound up it's day,
it'll leave behind your DNA
The title really sets the mood for the consistent wordplay through this whole piece.
A truly fun read, @diebitch, and I was impressed by how much scientific concepts and terms you managed to work in without at all compromising the poetic quality.
The scientific terms used in the end rhymes particularly impressed me, i.e. appeal /allele.
