Lovely... and profound.
As we wander through this thing called life, we all develop our personal mythologies and stories; some of the story may include wearing a mask over something we fear to let out, or it brings a sense of shame, or we worry about the opinions of others.
Living in authenticity can be a slippery beast... whole rejection of all guidelines of society is as much a "reaction" as is following all the rules... the task — it seems to me — is to sort through all the rubble and decide what we keep and what we toss. Each journey is unique... and I'm still poking around in it, from the far side of 60 years of age!
Thanks so much - I'm so sorry I missed this, but I'm not often here on Steem. Your comment means the world to me.
I'm ten years behind you - it's cretainly the journey. I'm not sure that the older you get, the mroe the mask comes off, or the more solid it clings.
