Raindrops pouring since yesterday
Wouldn’t stop on this dark Friday
The clock just ticks and tocks away
Reminding us the years and days we’ve thrown away
The crisp, and sheer but misty air
Gives me chills like frills without the fear
Curled up in blankets and warmers dear
Wondering how the homeless and strays lived for real
Should you stay or must you go?
The days are hot with no water flow
But if you stayed and start to pour
There is no room for the poor to crawl
Life is fair or so they say
Have you ever been that way?
If not you shouldn’t shun them away
In virtue and values, you mustn’t sway
Tonight I think, tonight I ponder
Tonight I thought, tonight I wondered
If there’s chance I’d help tonight
If there’s one night, tonight’s the night
That feeling oh so real, I know—
It’s cold tonight
