Dreaming In Deleware
Dreaming In Delaware
(a sonnet)
Lady of Sand and Water
Mistress of Earth and Sky
Bride of Fire...
Whos star stuck eyes called the lilies to bloom
For I have loved you well and long
Through discord’s lonely tune.
Together we sacrifice waning memories
As vapor, ash, or soot
Which ever whisper on the wings of eternity
As prudence softly breathes your name
From between the silent lines of her lips
To be carried away on a gentle breeze.
Cry out, passion’d lady
Your tune is ever itching in the ears
Of lost souls abandoned and in tears.
