A Requiem for Melancholy

On those days when you are not quite sure,
Feeling lonely and insecure;
or lost somewhere in empty places,
where intuition resides in negative spaces;
or in the darkest recesses of despair,
and when the world's weight you can no longer bear;
Always know that you are not alone,
for in your heart, my heart has found a home.
So dry your worried, weeping eyes,
and breathe a gentle calming sigh,
Your weary mind now may rest,
As you lay your head against my chest.
Always know that as soulmates
We are ever entwined,
and what was once your burden to carry alone
