Internal explosions bring
the first breath of life.
Realms warping, realms vibrating,
encased inside mind.
You: transcending, flourishing.
Break free from axis.
Secrets of the intrepid
travelers rush in.
The cosmos engulf you in
esoteric truth.
deaden all concept of time.
“You’re immortal here.”
Your body is listening,
This is life’s essence.

LSD has been a powerful substance in my life. It was one of the first medicines that opened me up to spirituality and really made me begin to think about deeper levels of consciousness. This is a series of haikus I wrote for a creative writing class based on my first acid trip. Enjoy the ride!
