Vegetated fortress
Vegetated fortress
original poetry.
( now formatted
Like Normal People Do! ™)
Humans like chrome vegetable buttresses
Armored with antioxidants & deep pigment,
Fluids that buffer the toxic shearing wind.
We subsist on hopelessly mixed fumes.
An atmosphere preaching its foibles
To its terran crew, transfixed on its lips
We stare into the mouth of god and sunshine streams
Through the prism of the broken helix sky:
Splitting all the colors and tones
Filtering the granular spacemass
Echoes of creation that keep creating
Creation of the shadows that keep echoing
Endlessly, echoing cymatic omniluminescence.
In this synesthesia of species,
Amalgamated animalism with divinity leaves
The sensitive leery, erupting with that
Selfsame query, all the words that
Start with "W" pour out while we rot slowly.
Over rapid, lengthy years
Our imperfection makes us holy.
Notes
You'd have to be a pretty die-hard follower to remember the last time I posted a regular ol' left-justified poem. But hey, why not? I've forced my readers to read my strange poetry format for six months, so enjoy a one day break! This is a pretty whimsical piece centering on the comparison of humans to armored vegetables that manage to rot very slowly (no easy feat, but we manage it!)
.
Stanza one introduces our helpless subsistence on earth's nurturance.
.
Stanza two discusses the intimacy humans share with the planet.
.
Stanza three outlines the process of individuation from the primordial wholeness.
.
Stanzas four/five pay homage to the seekers of truth throughout the ages.

#thealliance
Botanically divine, sincere and so lovely it made me smile.
As for the alignment I feel like it is lopsided even though this is the traditional alignment.
Your words are like caramel, I like them both!
