Silence, serpentine
I seek the seed of silence
with a many-troweled will
that stabs at one dun mound,
then the other, neighb'ring hill.
The seed seems serpentine,
for it scurries through the blades
of fate, o'er-awning infamies
that hurl it glints and shades.
Then I, in hot pursuit,
madly dash and des'prate fall
at the footstalk of its trail,
on the edge of its bright call.
I seek the silent, singing seed
always beyond my grasp.
Advance and it recedes,
I retreat—
then strikes the asp.
The opening line was amazing, I mean the alliteration and the way it had a musical effect on the poem is more than amazing Dan, the first person point of view too is brilliant, well done

That's so nice of you. I haven't written as frequently this year, but there is still quite a bit I haven't shared on Steemit. Getting busier life-wise, so some of the posts may be really short as this one is, but I'd like to get back into the loop here. Missing the supportive community aspect for sure!
Definitely you are buddy, I've become better at creating and writing though and often I use your poems as a yardstick though. Hope you find time the more

Thanks so much @jaynie! Yeah, @quillfire likes to butter me up so his wisecracks are even more effective! :-D Lol. I'm happy to be getting back to posting. Working on a lot of things behind the scenes that I can't wait to share, (eventually.) Hope you've been well, and have a nice weekend too!
